Identity

October 21, 2010

I’ve been away from the blog for several days now. The result of a slight identity crisis I’m having as I persist through a few growing pains. But pain in this context is a good thing.

Business has been good. Great actually. And it’s growing rapidly. I’ve been bogged down; not just with “work” itself, but by identifying who I am, who my business is, who my target market is, and identifying the specific services my business will be offering as it continues to grow and evolve. I’m slowly building a team, and I’ve been working to identify those team members. I’ve been working on identifying what everyone’s role will be. I’m identifying my strengths and weaknesses, and trying to pinpoint those traits in the people I’ve begun working with. I’m trying to identify when to say yes, and when to say no.

These are things we all should be doing regularly. It’s different than planning. Planning is guessing, but the process of¬†identification gives us the insight we need to learn and grow.
