Life. Fearlessly.

September 20, 2010

Fear is a mindset. It can be controlled, subdued, and replaced. Fear is created. It’s a chemical in the brain. It’s a drug and it’s a nasty one. We’re addicts…

We’re afraid of failure, afraid of success, and afraid of what others think. Some of us think we aren’t good enough, or that we don’t know enough. We don’t want to be judged. We hold back because we’re afraid of letting others down. Being depended upon is a scary thing. So we hold back, and we put off. We ride shotgun to fear. We don’t go anywhere because we’re afraid to take a step. And when we do, we get scared back into our holes. We’re afraid of the unknown. We’re consumed by it. We’re ruined by it. Fear is the devil.

Fear can be overpowered by action. Do something. It’s a frame of mind, it’s an emotion. It can be replaced. Have faith. We can either be delighted by our actions, or vexed by our fears. Living without fear doesn’t mean that we’re living recklessly. It means that we’re living. Fearlessly.
